I am going to combine two things that I absolutely love for this contest; cigars and Philip Seymour Hoffman movies.  I do not believe there to be a better movie resume than what this guy has made.  Obviously, everyone won’t agree with me but I will not be swayed.  Since his untimely–I will not use the word tragic–passing on Super Bowl Sunday landed in Valentine’s month, and he was on my man crush list, I feel like a top 15 movie list is appropriate.  Or as my 11-year-old daughter would say, “Totes apropro”.  To go with this, I will be giving away a great 5 pack of cigars from my collection.  Rules and cigars will be after the list, so here it is in all its glory.

1. The Big Lebowski

2. Scent of a Woman

3. Doubt

4. Boogie Nights

5.  Love Liza

6.  Before the Devil Knows you’re Dead

7.  Charlie Wilson’s War

8.  When a Man Loves a Woman

9.  The Ides of March

10. Happyness

11. Twister

12. Magnolia

13. 25th Hour

14. Red Dragon

15. Along came Polly

Notable movies that I left off (in no order):

Mission Impossible III:  These movies shot their wod in the first one.

The Talented Mr. Ripley:  By far the scariest, most creepy, movie I have ever seen in my life.

Almost Famous:  Full disclosure, I have not seen it and I have no intention too.

Capote:  Easily the absolute worst movie ever made.

Moneyball:  Seen it in real life; don’t need to watch the fake, exaggerated version.

Cold Mountain:  This was good and would make my top 16 list.

Patch Adams:  I despise Robin Williams and have not liked a movie he was in since Good Morning, Vietnam.
